The organisers of our trans-Atlantic Challenge,Woodvale Ltd have sold the rights to the Atlantic Challenge Rowing race to a Danish company who will now take the helm in preparations for the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.
The company, based in our target destination, La Gomera will co-ordinate all teams going forward for the race, launching on 2nd December 2013.
We’ll now finish the 3000 mile course at English Harbour in Antigua. Though we’re not complaining that we’ll still finish up in clear waters and sundrenched sands, Mark Brocklehurst says we’d have probably ended up there anyway if our navigation training is anything to go by! (Note to add some serious focus on the crews’ navigation skills!)
Otherwise, it’s business as usual for the Bolton Atlantic Challenge crew as we knuckle down with rigorous training programmes, a Caveman diet and regular boat training down at the Jumbles!
We look forward to working with the new company in getting geared up for the challenge ahead.
