" This is going to take a real effort to pull off. Just getting to the start line is going to be challenging but getting across the Atlantic by brute strength alone is almost unthinkable. Good luck! "

“It’s easy to overlook the fact that these four guys are ordinary men from Bolton with day jobs and home lives. To commit to such an audacious expedition and set really challenging targets is no mean feat. Good luck.”

“I always thought the training regime I go through to prepare for a fight was the toughest physical and mental exertion one man could take. This just goes to show I was wrong”
Amir Khan "All the very best for your row across the Atlantic. I'm full of admiration for anyone who wants to spend days on end going backwards, unable to see where they're going! On a serious note, though, rowing the Atlantic is a massive, massive challenge for anyone which cannot be underestimated - for the oarsmen themselves, but also their families. And to be raising funds for such a good cause is fantastic - a true example to all the children. As you can see in the picture, I only just managed 2,000 metres before I fell back exhausted (and elated!) - let alone the 2,000 kilometres or whatever mammoth distance you are rowing. Keep smiling, keep talking and GOOD LUCK!"
Andrew Lindsay Olympic Gold Medallist - Men's VIII, Sydney 2000 Dear Mark This is to send my very best wishes to you and your team for every success in the Bolton Atlantic Challenge. When we served together in the Royal Navy 30 years ago, I knew then that you were put on earth for a great test of Leadership, and this is it. Good Luck. By the way, it is great to see you and your former Royal Marine team mate holding the baton for the Naval Service; you now have to beat the RAF team that has also entered the race! It has been my honour to sponsor you in some small way. Wishing you a fair wind and following seas. ![]() Commodore - The Hon Michael Cochrane, OBE, Royal Navy
